TEH - Traditional European Healing
Hiking, Kneipp therapy, natural cosmetics, burning incense, cooking up ointments, collecting fresh, delicious salads straight from alpine meadows!
Traditional European Healing, generally referred to as TEH, includes many of those things that the people of the Saalachtal have been doing for centuries. They take medicinal plants, resins and other valuable ingredients that nature has to offer, and use them to make ointments, embrocations, baths, incense blends, teas and much more. And they know precisely when and how these ingredients should be collected and handled in order to preserve their positive benefits. And now they also reveal the secrets of their traditional wisdom to visitors, since they want these practices to continue to live on. Further information under www.teh.at
Wild Herb Hike: An excursion amid the rich variety of the Sonnberg in Unken including stories and sample treatments.
Herbal Vinegar Extract: a cold, non-alcoholic plant extract that can be kept for a very long time. It has cleaning effects on the skin and mucus membranes, making them silky soft.
Stream Kneipp Therapy: Pastor Kneipp left an indelible stamp on Traditional European Healing. Stream Kneipp therapy in the Unkenbach river amidst pristine countryside demonstrates that this therapy is possible practically anywhere.
Tea from fresh mountain herbs: wild herbs are collected and poured with hot water to make these mountain teas, with fragrant aromas the result.
Embrocations: a plant extract becomes a pleasant embrocation. The blend of herbs is custom-tailored to you.
Natural Bath Cosmetics: highly aromatic herbal baths can be created from natural ingredients.
Tinctures: a tincture is an alcoholic plant extract. A wealth of effective herb combinations and treatment opportunities are possible. It is also quite simple to make and keeps very well.
Incense Night: Incense Night is very popular. Native herbs and resins release surprising fragrances with beneficial effects inside the vaulted cellar of the Lutzbauern Farm.
Boiling up Pitch Ointment: things become quite aromatic as this ointment is cooked up, perhaps the most important medicinal ointment in the Alps. If you have ever used it but once, you will return to it time and again.
