There’s only one more thing left to decide: Perfectly groomed slopes or the infinite freedom of skiing in fresh powder?
When you ski in the Salzburg Saalach Valley, you are going to be treated to both: either the perfectly groomed ski runs of the Loferer Alm, or those pristine slopes of fresh powder in the wonderfully tranquil Heutal Valley near Unken. All that’s left to do is clamp on those skis, then off you go!
The Loferer Alm Lifts are investing even more heavily in improving snow conditions for the Winter 2007/2008 ski season!
Up to now, Old Man Winter has had the help of 9 snowmakers between the Loferer Alm and the valley bottom. But in future, over 50 snow canons and lances will guarantee perfect snow conditions, both up on the Loferer Alm and also along the entire length of the valley run. These improvements mean that it will now be possible to produce a snow base for the ski area within just 4 days at a temperature of -5°C.
As of this coming winter, non-stop skiing at 9 of 10 lifts (the exception being the Grubhörndl tow) is guaranteed by snowmaking machines. This investment delivers skiers all the snow they need from Christmas until Easter!
