SALZBURGER SAALACHTAL - THE FAMILY FRIENDLY 4 WELCOME YOU
The „Salzburger Saalachtal“ is situated in the province of Salzburg, embedded between Tirol and Bavaria. The villages Lofer, St. Martin, Unken and Weissbach with their family friendly skiing areas Loferer Alm and Unken-Heutal offer best skiing conditions either for families, beginners and advanced skiers:
2 cable cars, 1 4-pax chair lift, 16 drag lifts – 58 km slopes, mainly easy and intermediate, 80 km cross-country tracks, 45 km cleared winter paths, flood light toboggan runs and – of course – Après Ski.
These skiing areas are ideal for families with children and grant generous reductions for children and elderly people during the whole winter season.
A special hit is guided snowshoeing tours in the untouched winter-scenery of the “Salzburger Saalachtal”. In the valley of “Vorderkaser” – closed during the winter season - waits a unique spectacle for you – the biggest natural snow- and icecrystals!
The main village Lofer is the best choice if you want to be near the lifts, and be in walking distance to the restaurants, bars and discotheques.
The new ski-train “Kaserasi truck” brings you directly from your hotel to the cable car station.
Only 2 km away is St. Martin. The small village has kept its rustic character. You can experience pure nature, cross-country skiing, tobogganing but still reach the skiing area in a few minutes by skibus.
Weißbach is about 10 km away into the direction of Saalfelden. “Soft and silent” is the slogan when you do ski-touring, winter walking, snow shoeing or cross-country skiing – there is heaps of things to experience.
Unken, next to the german boarder, has its own small skiing area – Heutal, it offers 4 lifts, well prepared slopes and lots of powder-snow. Also wonderful cross-country high tracks are waiting for you.
Unken has various possibilities for sporty Après-Ski events: the “Freizeitzentrum” with its indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, fitness room and a modern bowling-alley offers many leisure activities.
